things worth writing down.

7 clothes you'll regret buying (and what to get instead)

most of the clothes you regret weren't bad clothes. they were bought by a version of you that doesn't exist yet, or for a day that never came. here are the seven that keep showing up in the back of the closet. the discount did the deciding. you never asked whether you wanted it at full price, because you never had to.

why i repeat my outfits

i repeat my outfits. a few sets, worn on rotation, week after week. here's why. the first reason is that i didn't like deciding. getting dressed is a small choice, but it's the first one of the day, and i was spending real thought on it before anything that mattered. picking from a closet full of options doesn't feel like freedom in the morning. it feels like work. repeating an outfit takes the decision off the table.

the comfort of doing the same thing every day

most of my days look the same. same route, same hours, same food, same music, same desk. i used to think that was something to fix. there's a lot around you saying a good life should look varied. new places, new people, something worth posting. by that standard a repeated day is a wasted one. but the repetition is doing something. when the small stuff is already decided, there's more of me left for the parts i care about. the routine isn't the life. it's what makes room for it.

being 20s

your 20s are a strange age. you are old enough to decide things for yourself, and still young enough to have no idea what you are doing. some weeks you feel fine. you have a plan. you know what you are working toward. then you wake up on a tuesday and none of it feels certain. people you went to school with are getting jobs, moving out, traveling, starting businesses, getting married, buying things you cannot afford.
